What is ghostwriting?

Ghostwriting involves hiring someone to write, or help write, a book or other written matter for you. Some ghostwriters even write screenplays, song lyrics, articles blog posts, speeches, etc. However, the most commonly ghostwritten projects are usually books, especially nonfiction. Typically, the ghostwriter’s name does not appear on the book's cover.

A transformative and supportive writing experience.

Why hire a ghostwriter?

People hire ghostwriters for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, people lack the time to write, or they don't feel confident in being able to write an entire book by themself.

Those who do hire ghostwriters tend to finish writing their book sooner and with fewer issues, and they produce a book that is generally better-written and is easier to read.

If you've ever hired an expert to do a job you're not capable of or aren't confident of doing, then you may want to look into hiring a ghostwriter if you want to write a book.

What does a ghostwriter cost?

When you hire a ghostwriter, especially a good one, you are hiring a professional who has spent years as a professional writer and who has written hundreds of thousands of words.

While there is no specific license or degree needed for someone to become a ghostwriter, any good ghostwriter is a professional and should be treated that way.

For this reason, ghostwriters charge for their services, and hiring a ghostwriter should be looked on as investment.

While the potential investment can vary, expect to pay anywhere between $20,000 to $50,000 or more for a ghostwritten book. That price can vary depending on the project and the book's length.

About your ghostwriter

As you might expect, I have been writing for some time. I spent over 18 years as a technical and business writer where I wrote manuals, proposals, user guides, press releases, marketing collateral, white papers, operational instructions, and all sorts of business-related and technical writing. And I've been ghostwriting since 2013.

I also have a master's in English literature, and I grew up loving words and language.

I bring all of this experience and talent with me to every nonfiction project I undertake. You can rest easy knowing that your memoir, business book, or self-help book is in capable hands when you work with me. And when you hire me you get me and no one else. I don't subcontract out to junior writers.

When I write a book with my clients, we work hard (and of course I do much more of the work than they do), but we always strive to produce something of excellence.
